The award winning Female vocalist of the Year was working on her fourth CD when she was offered a deal with Kingdom Records, which is home to the #1 Billboard Charting Praise and Worship choir, Shekinah Glory Ministry. They were excited about Jones, of which they affectionately call Lady Soul.  They didn’t waste any time preparing the release of the first single, “Gotta Soul” from the “Gotta Soul” CD due to launch on April 29, 2008.  Without a doubt and to no surprise, the single took radio by a phenomenal storm, as one of the most requested songs on the R&R Charts and placing at #74 on the BDS Charts, then climbing an unprecedented 30 spots to #44 within one week.

Once you have heard not only the music of Cynthia Jones, but the uncompromising lyricism of Cynthia Jones, it is evident to see what makes her and her music so powerful, thought provoking, soul searching, convicting and converting to the heart, mind and soul of listeners from all walks of life.

Cynthia’s success was destined to happen, she knew what her calling was at a very young age when she gave her life to Christ.

Music has always been in Cynthia’s blood, she was the substitute church pianist, organist, drummer, and the praise and worship leader.  She wrote her first song in the eighth grade, it was originally written as a poem for a class assignment, then she began arranging music from the poems she had written and started singing them to her classmates, family and friends.  Cynthia knew she had a message to deliver to the world so she put a group together called Cynthia Rice and Praise, then she hit the road singing anywhere she could, at anniversaries, local churches, community events, talent showcases, anywhere to get exposure.

Finally in the year of 2000, Cynthia’s hard work and the fruits of labor began to pay off with the release of her debut project “Almost Midnight; this project caught the eye of BET’s Dr. Bobby Jones of the Bobby Jones Gospel Show, after appearing on the show, she began to open for several major gospel artists in the music industry such as Richard Smallwood, Donald Lawrence, Fred Hammond, Helen Baylor and many more. By the year of 2003, she released her sophomore project “Turn To You”, this CD displayed Cynthia as a more seasoned artist, she was a featured act with Stellar Award Winner Tonex and then went on to signed with JAM Christian Concerts to tour with Kirk Franklin and Out of Eden on the Paramount’s Theme Park Tours.

Cynthia’s hunger for souls went far beyond singing, after starting the first all female motorcycle group in Raleigh called the Ebony Angels, she used her love for riding motorcycles as a tool to witness and win souls to Christ, she founded an all female Christian motorcycle ministry called “Soul Patrol, yes, Cynthia is a veteran motorcyclists.  She had the respect from several bikers and motorcycle groups, The National Association for Black Bikers highly respected Cynthia as well, they booked her for their Sunday Jazz Brunch at the Annual Myrtle Beach Bike Week Event, but Cynthia saw this more than just being asked to do a concert, she saw this as an opportunity to witness and minister through her music.  So even if she didn’t win every last soul that day, she knew she had at least planted a seed into the lives of some people who may never get another chance to hear about Jesus Christ.

Cynthia believes there are no limitations or boundaries when it comes to winning souls, she has been known to seize the moment of opportunity whenever and wherever it presents itself to win a soul to Christ, because she realizes everybody's GOTTA SOUL.
